This phenomenal film
has just become available on widescreen DVD.
It has been called "arguably
the best drag racing documentary ever produced." And we
concur. It really captures what it's like for a crew and driver
to get a Top Fuel car down the track. Not the usual run after
run movie... but an amazing "inside look behind the usual
fire and brimstone at the track."
Opens with great footage from
the 1960's from Lions, Fremont, Pomona and Bakersfiled featuring
Garlits, Ivo's Showboat, Speed Sport roadster, Gotelli, Chrisman,
the Glass Slipper and the list goes on - just classic stuff!
Soundtrack featuring songs by
Peter Rowan (Free Mexican Air Force), Jan and Dean (Barbara Ann),
the Mustangs (Highway 99), Deep Purple (Highway Star), The Rip
Chords (Hey Little Cobra), and Joe Ely (The Road Goes on Forever,
and, 1,000 Mile From Home) and more.
Producer/Director Bleich (winner
Best Director (NY) at the New York Indie Film Festival for this
film) brings a filmmakers curiosity and eye to a subject not
often understood by either fans or non fans.
